Note to EK

16 months...and I feel like we have been friends for 16 years.  In every note you may feel like I say you are full of life but it is the truth.  You are sugar and spice!!!  You like things your way lately.  Just remember life is not always the way we want it.  You can do anything and be anything but you have to give and take.  I know you will get this and I promise Pappa and I will do our part to set you up to understand this.  I want to give you the world but know that I have to help you learn all the hows not just give it to you.  You won't always get it and I am sure there will be days you don't like me for it but you will get it.  Both Pappa and my parents did the same thing so we are teaching from a history of greats.  I am confident you keep the determination you have now, you will get what you want out of life and I am already enjoying the ride with you!!  Go girl go!!

Tiger Time

We love this time of year, weekends spent with different favorites each weekend and Tiger football. Not the best tiger game but we won! Once again we spent the weekend soaking in all the black and gold! Even the most annoying screeching mizzou fan for 4 straight quarters. (please Franklin return bc this family of the back up was to put politely unbearable).

24 weeks! Tons movement and sleeping us getting uncomfortable bit all in all feeling great!! I can tell you we will have a house of mover and shakers!

Momma moment

Truly I love my daily set up but just like anyone I have my moments. Today was one of those moments. Ek was signed up and going to her first music class. It was all my idea and I set it up. This kid loves to be social so I knew she would love it but one thing was missing...me. I would be at work and miss Tina would be there with ek. Again in my heart I am so happy but today at 10:30 when class would be starting, I was crying at my desk. Quick tears and I recovered, one of the many times as a mom I will learn to let go and watch and hear about the fun. Pappa had great encouraging words, we are there with her for so much and it's a good thing for her to experience with others. After my moment I had to reflect on how lucky I am to have the set up that I do, I love our miss Tina, my job, and our set up. I am true to myself and know those won't be the last tears around moments with ek and soon the babes but I do know it's all good in the end!! Music class was a success and lots of fun was had by all!! They will be back next week and momma won't cry!!

Game Day is back!!

Mizzourah!! We were ready this weekend to kickoff the SEC season for the Tigers with our great friends in town. Sad no pics of us moms but that may because both of our hands were busy the while time!! We had a fabulous mizzou weekend full of everything I love this time of year!

Started Saturday am with a crisp am run, followed by coffee and the sounds of game day on espn. Love. We then geared up in some black and gold and headed downtown to get a new mizzou flag and soak in the atmosphere. People everywhere and a TON of Georgia fans doing there dog chants. Love. We then met our friends for lunch again enjoying the vibe. Pappa even got to enjoy the am and lunch with us. Love. Heading to Harpos to say hello to more friends but ek and beck were denied, not 21! After visiting outside and many ga fans taking pics of ek, we headed home to rest. Ashley and I then headed to the game leaving the girls home with miss Tina and Ba. Great night for all the girls! It was a great game full of football watching, lots of chatting, good eats, and the most annoying ga girl!! Not a tiger win but I still left a proud and happy tiger. Love.

Today we continued the fun with a day spent downtown with our friends before they left; pumpkin spice, breakfast, hanging out by the columns, church, and then lunch with pappa! Love.

Love this time of year for so many reason but most importantly it's the grat friends that come to town and the great times we have! Ready for next year Ashley and Beckett!!

The Halcombs!

A new Mr. and Mrs. were celebrated in style this weekend!  It was a true party in every definition from the detail at each event, the company, the food, the laughs and cries, the dancing, the smiles, and the party dilemmas that ended fabulous.  We headed to Pleasant Hill to celebrate Builders only sister's wedding!  It was a beautiful weekend!!

It started out on Friday with the Rehearsal Dinner Kentucky style.  Mr. is from KY so they did it up.  Every food had a story behind it and many of them related right back to farms local to where he grew up.  Very approprite for a farming family.  I think Mr.'s dad had a great quote for the weekend, the rain that was falling was a blessing to the farm family that Mrs. is entering.  Well put after a very dry summer!  The night was celebrated around two great people.

The wedding festivites continued on Saturday morning with a beautiful brunch at Mamo's for the girls and a Boulevard tour for the guys.  Followed by hair, makeup, and getting dressed for the big event.  The pictures began and I think they had the best photographer I have ever worked with on a wedding.  She was so laid back, sweet as pie, and just moved so fast.  It was a very pleasant experience and that includes having to get a 1 year old to smile.  I can't wait to see more pictures!!

The bride looked STUNNING!!  of course so did the groom but Mrs. you were beautiful.  Again so much family history and family ties in what she wore.  Just makes it so special.  The veil was worn by Mr.'s mom and was so beautiful and the head piece was parts of Mimi's dress.  Those are just a few of the family connections.

The ceremony was beautiful and the kiddos made it down the aisle in the wagon.  As I was walking down the aisle hearing EK cry I was not sure what was going to happen.  Thank goodness for Lulu and Poppy's help all weekend and they pulled it off.  EK with pacie but such is life!   After my mom said neither had the seatbelts on so good thing they decided not to climb out!  I think the preacher gave the best sermon I have ever heard at a wedding.  She connected with the bride and groom and told their story with her message.  They met at the KY derby and her quote I will remember is 'Wear love like a derby day hat,  Big and bold and base your outfit around it.  Don't hide it, show it off.'

The reception was planned to be held in the backyard of Mimi and Pops house.  The rain did change the original plans but that did not change the details.  I love parties and I love all the details that went into this party, the colors where navy and green.  Each table was set with the most beautiful flower arrangements, 2 KY derby original glasses on either side and each place was set perfectly and one of my favorites was the cupcake at each seat sitting on  a cedar coaster.  The bar had all the touches with the monogrammed stirrers and stripped straws.  The tables were dressed with navy clothes with burlap runners.  The tables were all assigned KY derby horses so you could find your seat, seating arrangements were on a large easel as you entered.  The I spy was a great conversation piece at each table.  I think one of the biggest hits was the favor, a jar of honey with a comb, the stickers on the front all had a different messages, 'Meant to Bee', 'Love is Sweet".  I could go on and on but it was a fabulous reception!  Lots of dancing, I mean even Builder got out there.  He lived it up as he should at his sisters wedding and I will try this week to upload the videos.  EK was fabulous and we all made it to almost the end.  After the pizza arrived and we were so full.  I almost forgot to mention the grooms cake, going back to family ties, this was a cake his grandma always made for birthdays.  It was the best chocolate cake I have ever had and everyone agreed.  The icing was fudge.  Poppy could not stop eating it!!  He and the Mr.'s dad kept cutting off more.  So full and happy we all headed back!

Mr. and Mrs. Halcomb!!  We were so happy to be part of your celebration and could not be happier for you both.  You are a perfect match and we know you will share a life full of happiness together.  We look forward to many more family memories with the Halcombs.
