Oh What a Sweet Pea!

It was a fun filled weekend for the pea.  We headed to KC for a Builder (and extended) Family Shower.  It was such a sweet event!!  Pea is oh so lucky.  Aunt Suz put on a very special party for the pea, all while expecting her 3rd in July.  Pea and Manda 3 are going to be the best of friends!! We can't wait to see what both of you will be!  Aunt Suz had a great idea to have a family shower so all the builder's family could get together to celebrate.  The dinner party was a perfect event.  Her house was all decorated with purple and green and fun pea accents.  The table arrangements were so cute and the little pea pods were featured just so.  I loved all the touches!  The food was fabulous.  Uncle Willie whipped up some of the best pasta ever.  I think everyone went back for seconds.  The desserts were so cute and the mini cupcakes were so tasty.  We are so thankful for the fabulous gifts.  It was so exciting to get our car seat and stroller.  We are now officially ready to roll (after this weekend it feels like literally).  We can now leave the hospital with our car seat and pea.  We had so much fun visiting with family and having everyone together in one place.  We all look forward to the 2 summer additions coming very soon.   It was  a fun filled weekend and we made it back to CoMO with all the stuff.  It was quite a sight seeing us pack the car this morning but we were able to get it all in.  Oh Bother did sit a little higher in a seat on top of a seat but he was so tired he was down with anything.  What a fabulous weekend!! 35 weeks today...pea is coming very soon

HIPPITY HOPPITY

lulu and poppy

Home way from home for the pea!!  Lulu's nursery is so darn cute!  The pea can't wait for the first over night visit.  I love the entire feel of Lulu's new guest room and nursery.  It has a very shabby chic, cottage feel to it.  The rustic red metal crib is such pop with the other cream and sand color furniture.  The PB madras bedding on both the bed and the crib ties all the colors together.  You can't see it but the sheets are a blue and white stripe with small whale critters in navy.  I love the red rustic rocking chair, the shape gives it that fun modern look but the woven look ties it all in.  The American flag over the bed has a great family story.  My Granny gave Poppy that flag this year, she wanted him to have it.  It was a flag that his dad, Frank, had with him during his tour for the war.  Love that history and love the rustic frame that poppy picked out himself to frame it.   Such a welcoming room for all the guests at the Otts and all the future grandbabies!!!

34 Weeks

I can't believe we are 34 weeks this week.  It feels like just yesterday we found out pea was coming and now we are 6 weeks away from the due date for the pea.  We LOVE the pea so much!!  The pea is a mover....the builder and I have had so much fun feeling and watching pea move across my tummy.  Pea you really still are very picky about the food you want to enjoy.  I don't get sick as often but still have my days.  We laugh but Pea is really not a fan of meat...builder swears this will change!  As for cravings, I have not had one the entire time.  We love to laugh about the beebo!  We have really enjoyed the last 34 weeks (honestly) but are so excited to meet the pea.  Will you be a boy or a girl?

A Weekend all about the Pea!

What a weekend!!  Pea is one lucky, lucky baby!!  Builder and I are so grateful for our fabulous family and friends.  This weekend was all about the Pea!!

It started with Builder leaving early Friday morning for his Baby Shower.  Builder and his buddies had so much fun last year in Kentucky on a bachelor party they just had to find a reason to go back this year.  With no one getting married, they started a new tradition Baby showers.  They loaded up and headed out of town with their whiskey jackets in hand ready to take on Lexington, KY.  I am pretty sure from stories they did just that.  A little more detail on the whiskey jackets, on this trip you must sport a whiskey jacket (i.e. blazer) in order to drink the whiskey, must help it go down better but I am pretty sure they don't need any help in that department.  They ate like Kings both nights, drank KY finest, and enjoyed the horse races on Saturday.  They all arrived home on Sunday so it was a successful baby shower in honor of the pea.

Lulu arrived on Friday afternoon and we did more traditional things for getting ready for pea.  We started the process of putting away all the baby stuff and getting it all washed and ready to go.  I do have to say the packaging and tags on things is unbelievable.  We did have some fun as well!!  A was in town and we all enjoyed a pasta dinner at the new location for the Pasta Factory...it was great!!

On Saturday, the pea was honored at a shower at our friends Anne's house.  The shower was all the Columbia girls and Anne's shower 'How Sweet It Is' could not have been cuter.  The house was decorated just perfectly!!  One detail was cuter then the next.  I know so much work went into the party and it was all just so darn cute.  The topiaries on each table were made by Anne, I think she could sell those, I loved them!!   It was such a fun afternoon full of fabulous food and sweets!!  Anne prepared the best meal, I have to get the recipes.  We had turkey, cheese, and roasted red pepper panini, a bow tie pasta with spinach and asparagus, and the best berry mix.  It was fabulous!  I think everyone had seconds.  The sweet table was so cute and the cupcakes were delicious.  It was such a fun afternoon spent with good friends in Columbia.  Lulu had so much fun meeting everyone and being there for the fun.   At the end of the party each person had a pail with their name on it and little plastic bags inside to fill with the candy from the sweet table.  It was a fun way to end the sweet event!!  For more pictures click here http://albums.phanfare.com/slideshow.aspx?i=1&db=1&pw=Atf01zug&a_id=5084406

The fun for the pea continued into Sunday.  Lulu and I had just about everything washed and put away in the pea's room and it smells soooo good!!  Dreft may be what I wash everything with!  Today the pea was being honored at a shower given by Mary Jo and Cassie and the Academy Dance Team.  It was so sweet of them to have a shower for us and it was a super cute shower!!  The theme for the shower was duckies and it could not have been cuter.  The shower was held on Sunday afternoon and the weather was so sunny and nice!  It was perfect for the bright yellow duck theme.  All the details were so cute.  Mary Jo arranged with Lulu for cookies from Clayton's bakery to be there...so darn sneaky!!  The duck cookies with pink and blue bows were so cute and yummy!  Mindy Fuller made the cutest cupcakes ever for the party.  They were so darn cute you did not think they were real!  She also made yellow chocolate duckies.  It all was all so fun and tasted great as well.  It was great a great afternoon with great families from the Academy.  The pea is so lucky to have such great babysitters waiting for the arrival....they are dancers so they hope for a girl but will love a boy as well.  They even gave us an Academy jacket already stoned and embroidered!!  Mary Jo took pictures so hopefully she can upload and send to me so I can add more!

It was such a fun filled weekend that I think I am still recovering!!  We had so much fun at all the showers and it was so fun to have Lulu in for the entire weekend.  Next time she will be back will be for the arrival of the pea....!!!

Bunny came early..

Last Saturday Oh Bother was so happy to see the UPS driver on a Saturday.  Oh bother has made great friends with the delivery driver and receives a treat every time he comes down the street.  Even if we don't get a package Oh bother gets a treat and he knows it!!

This time the package was for Oh Bother.  As soon as builder opened the package....it was complete laughter and lots of no way!!  Louie sent us 6 packages of sour patch jelly beans!!  The week before builder had shared the story that we were on the search for Sour Patch jelly beans and had not found them.  Yes we were told they were at Walmart and we made a special trip just for them and left with a new kinda of starburst jelly beans that were terrible!!

The sour patch jelly beans are delicious!! I need to put down the bag now!!  Sugary gummies are my guilty pleasure.

Mandas are ready for Easter thanks to Louie!!

If One was not Enough...

I am still talking about projects!  The bathroom is almost done but not quite and this is how we are making dinner these days.....
Just your normal griddle on the patio!
Basement Kitchen

The fridge on the move..
Ready for tear out to begin!

Yes we have started a complete remodel on our kitchen.  We are kitchen-less and making do in the our makeshift basement kitchen.  Moving the fridge down the hill to the basement was quite a site.  It was the first warm (hot) day of the year and thank goodness for builder and his friends.  The basement kitchen has really worked out well, with a few dinners at friends we have had fun with some adventurous cooking.  So baby is coming and we have no master bath and kitchen.  That is our life!!  We do love projects.  I will say we are both ready to be done with major projects.  While the planning and picking is all very fun, it will be fabulous to have drywall dust free house.

So I promise more pictures of the master bath (that camera is dead and can't upload right now).  The master bath has been the most difficult project yet.  Slight delay last week on counter tops when the granite people pushed us back from the previous Thursday to last Monday.  This pushed back final cabinet installation and the painter.  So back on track this week and the painter should be done tomorrow!  We still have one challenge on our hand, the mirrors.  It is too boring to go there but basically no mirror is working.  I mean yes some work but they don't have the look and feel I am going for.  It will all be worth it....did test out the shower and the rain shower was a fabulous touch.  I hope to show pictures of a clean finished bathroom by next week.

Project number 2...We have the kitchen down to the studs (walls and ceilings).  This does mean we are almost popcorn free!!  We have the popcorn in the bathroom off the kitchen and then we are done.  No more popcorn and I swear we will never buy a house where we have to take it down.  We have the kitchen cabinets ordered and are counting down for them to come in.  We have 5 weeks or so from this week.  Once we get the floor out and don't forget the million staples under that white tile.  It will be flash back to our very first set of projects.  Builder is moving electricity and plumbing, some assistance from the professionals of course.  Then we will have the drywall men put it all back together and await our cabinets.  We may or may not have a kitchen for peas arrival but we will have a summer enjoying it!!  It would only be right that pea enters this world with a project underway ( I am hoping the kitchen is done, the project can always be the planting that I want to do come May!!)
