The Halcombs!

A new Mr. and Mrs. were celebrated in style this weekend!  It was a true party in every definition from the detail at each event, the company, the food, the laughs and cries, the dancing, the smiles, and the party dilemmas that ended fabulous.  We headed to Pleasant Hill to celebrate Builders only sister's wedding!  It was a beautiful weekend!!

It started out on Friday with the Rehearsal Dinner Kentucky style.  Mr. is from KY so they did it up.  Every food had a story behind it and many of them related right back to farms local to where he grew up.  Very approprite for a farming family.  I think Mr.'s dad had a great quote for the weekend, the rain that was falling was a blessing to the farm family that Mrs. is entering.  Well put after a very dry summer!  The night was celebrated around two great people.

The wedding festivites continued on Saturday morning with a beautiful brunch at Mamo's for the girls and a Boulevard tour for the guys.  Followed by hair, makeup, and getting dressed for the big event.  The pictures began and I think they had the best photographer I have ever worked with on a wedding.  She was so laid back, sweet as pie, and just moved so fast.  It was a very pleasant experience and that includes having to get a 1 year old to smile.  I can't wait to see more pictures!!

The bride looked STUNNING!!  of course so did the groom but Mrs. you were beautiful.  Again so much family history and family ties in what she wore.  Just makes it so special.  The veil was worn by Mr.'s mom and was so beautiful and the head piece was parts of Mimi's dress.  Those are just a few of the family connections.

The ceremony was beautiful and the kiddos made it down the aisle in the wagon.  As I was walking down the aisle hearing EK cry I was not sure what was going to happen.  Thank goodness for Lulu and Poppy's help all weekend and they pulled it off.  EK with pacie but such is life!   After my mom said neither had the seatbelts on so good thing they decided not to climb out!  I think the preacher gave the best sermon I have ever heard at a wedding.  She connected with the bride and groom and told their story with her message.  They met at the KY derby and her quote I will remember is 'Wear love like a derby day hat,  Big and bold and base your outfit around it.  Don't hide it, show it off.'

The reception was planned to be held in the backyard of Mimi and Pops house.  The rain did change the original plans but that did not change the details.  I love parties and I love all the details that went into this party, the colors where navy and green.  Each table was set with the most beautiful flower arrangements, 2 KY derby original glasses on either side and each place was set perfectly and one of my favorites was the cupcake at each seat sitting on  a cedar coaster.  The bar had all the touches with the monogrammed stirrers and stripped straws.  The tables were dressed with navy clothes with burlap runners.  The tables were all assigned KY derby horses so you could find your seat, seating arrangements were on a large easel as you entered.  The I spy was a great conversation piece at each table.  I think one of the biggest hits was the favor, a jar of honey with a comb, the stickers on the front all had a different messages, 'Meant to Bee', 'Love is Sweet".  I could go on and on but it was a fabulous reception!  Lots of dancing, I mean even Builder got out there.  He lived it up as he should at his sisters wedding and I will try this week to upload the videos.  EK was fabulous and we all made it to almost the end.  After the pizza arrived and we were so full.  I almost forgot to mention the grooms cake, going back to family ties, this was a cake his grandma always made for birthdays.  It was the best chocolate cake I have ever had and everyone agreed.  The icing was fudge.  Poppy could not stop eating it!!  He and the Mr.'s dad kept cutting off more.  So full and happy we all headed back!

Mr. and Mrs. Halcomb!!  We were so happy to be part of your celebration and could not be happier for you both.  You are a perfect match and we know you will share a life full of happiness together.  We look forward to many more family memories with the Halcombs.
