The girls started on the milk today (Matilda on 5ml and Margaret 3ml) they loved it! Great sign that both kept it down. Momma's got a lot of milk so that makes me smile! They both were moving up by 2ml at 3:30 and then again at 9:30. We got to hold the girls today, switched I held Margaret and Poppa Matilda. Again a fabulous 2.5 hours. The girls got new beds with the night nurse and a new set up. These beds are a step up and both have a dome, they were snug as a bug! After we held them they got weighed and both gained 100 grams. Learned today 137 grams in an oz, once they get going the see a gain of 1 oz a day, not a bad start girls!! Both girls have adjusted well to new breathing device. Margaret did have one breathing apnea last night, got into that deep sleep. They said this is common as they adjust. We are so thankful each day for all the nurses and docs, my peace comes from the fact that there is no way I could provide what they need, they are in the best hands. We have been so lucky with all the positive updates, I'm not leaving out anything but I do remind myself that this is a journey if ups and downs. This experience has already taught me and Poppa so much we would never have learned without this experience. At 28 weeks when my world was shaken I told myself we can do this. I know I have typed that a lot but truly what pushes me to get up at night and pump, balance home and hospital, leave the hospital, stick to ek's schedule, and try to keep a normal life. I have moments not afraid to admit but I pick up and move on. We are lucky people and this is life right now and it's a good life blessed with an amazing Poppa ( that's a post in itself! Many asked he did the cookies and costumes, his ideas! I just came up with 3 piggies) and 3 little girls!!
Thanks for all the love and messages. They brighten our days, love you all family and friends!
